Hailing from the Inland Empire, Ca. by way of Texas, Kevin, better known as, K.J., moved to Los Angeles determined to make a name for himself as both Director and screenwriter. Upon graduating from California State University, S.B., K.J. launched his entertainment career as an on-camera performer, having been the Hero or main performer in many, national commercials and special promos: McDonalds, Mountain Dew, Adidas, Nike, Fox Sports, Play-station and Subway. This not only sparked his interest in advertising, but gave him the background needed to understand all of its inner workings.
A workaholic to the core, K.J. puts as much energy into directing as he does writing. In 2003, K.J. found some incredible success. He penned an updated adaptation of the urban, cult classic, Cooley High, which led to, "Caught on Tape", a progressive, Shakespearian-street, hip hop musical starring Cedric the Entertainer, Vivica A. Fox and Bokeem Woodbine.
In 2009, K.J. then wrote the urban drama Maestro, that was commissioned by, Mitchell Lieb, President of Motion Picture Soundtracks, Disney Pictures, and won Best Music Video for his video Falling Down, which solidified K.J.s transition into directing commercials and music videos.
Now K.J.s work can be seen internationally, with multiple music videos and commercials from high profile artists and brands such as Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Too Short, Xzibit, E-40, Seefor Yourself, Nike, Teen-safe, and Match.com to name a few.
